Localized thermal source for frost-sensitive crops
We offer you two types of antifreeze candles:
- The 4 kg anti-freeze candle is made of 100% paraffin, providing 11 to 12 hours of burn time*. It is equipped with a handle lid, making it easy to open and allowing for quick extinguishing of the flame if necessary.
- The eco-friendly anti-freeze candle 4 kg 100% plant-based, for a runtime of approximately 10 hours*, also equipped with a handle lid for easy handling.
These anti-frost candles, contained in a sturdy metal container, are designed to limit damage caused by late frosts, particularly in orchards and vineyards. Positioned on average every 5 metres, they ensure uniform thermal coverage.
The ignition protocol is carried out in three steps:
- Light one candle out of every two, one row out of every two (25% of the total).
- If the temperature continues to drop, light one candle out of every two in the previously extinguished rows (50% of the total).
- If the temperature becomes critical (below -5 °C or not rising), light all remaining candles.
The lid should be kept nearby for quick extinguishing if necessary. Store the candles closed, away from moisture, between -25 °C and +35 °C, out of direct sunlight.
*The duration of autonomy may vary depending on climatic conditions (wind, altitude, flatness…). The information on the duration and the number of candles to be used is provided for guidance only. Roby cannot be held responsible for any differences observed on site.
